Lhasa Region (1990s)

In the 1990s, I was able to visit the Tibetan capital of Lhasa often and for longer periods of time. The photographs above offer insights into the city of Lhasa and its surroundings, as well as the nearby valleys of the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra), Kyichu, Reting and Chongye rivers, with a focus on the Tibetan people and their Buddhist culture.
